From time to time, we bring on new services that we’re excited about and wish to share with our prospects and clients.

Our Portable Podcast Studio

You’ve probably seen me discuss our full podcast studio in downtown Indianapolis. However, next week I’m heading on the road to Dell EMC World to co-host a number interviews for the Dell Technologies’ Luminaries Podcast.

While I’d love to package up my studio and move it to Vegas, that wasn’t really an option. I needed to portable podcast studio that I could put in a suitcase and bring out there with me. A good friend, audiophile, and my #1 source on anything audio is Brad Shoemaker of Creative Zombie Studios. He talked up the Zoom H6. Then Chris Spangle, another podcasting expert, brought down his Zoom and showed it to me. I was smitten.

To reduce the room I needed and to accommodate recording of panels and presentations where the speaker may be walking around, I looked for a wireless microphone setup. I settled on the Shure BLX188/CVL Dual Wireless Lavalier system. I purchased 2 of them at different frequencies to ensure I wouldn’t have any interference between the units.

With the two units, I can set everything up for 4 wireless lavalier microphones and the included microphone. I may purchase some desktop microphones for sit-down discussions in the future, but this is going to work great for now.

I’ll also have a Shure MV88 iOS Digital Stereo Condenser Microphone to record everyone on my iPhone as a backup.

Full disclosure: I’m using Amazon Affiliate links in this post and the team at Shure sent me the MV88 to test out and then gave it to me!

Our Agile Marketing Journey

One of the key differentiators that we have with other agencies is that we’re not just a job shop. Because our goal is to partner and grow with our clients, we also must ensure that our engagements are long-term focused. It’s one of the reasons we don’t actively sell and churn as other agencies do. Our clients love us because of the work we put into researching, developing a strategy, implementing the technologies necessary to succeed, executing the strategy and optimizing it.

Marketing is more difficult than it’s ever been. And explaining the journey we take our clients on is just as complex. In order to communicate our services better, we developed this presentation and accompanying infographic on the Agile Marketing Journey.

If your business is struggling with priorities, process, and needs assistance in generating a strategy and applying resources to ensure the return on marketing investment is maximized, feel free to reach out and we can discuss our products and services with you.

Google Analytics Executive Reporting

One of the services that we provide our clients is weekly, monthly, and quarterly analytics reporting. We utilize a tool that queries our clients’ analytics accounts and produces an executive summary that is far easier to read than a dashboard or report within Google Analytics. Additionally, we’ve written our own referrer spam filter that’s applied to the report to minimize false referrers – which is a huge problem nowadays.

Here’s a sample section of a Quarterly Executive report that was sent out with quarter-over-quarter data:

Executive Reporting for Google Analytics

The report then breaks down performance by channel in their own sections for referrals, direct visits, organic search, social media, and email. Top landing pages, mobile visits, conversions, and geographic breakdowns are also provided. It’s a report that allows us to pinpoint our performance as well as keep our clients notified of our progress.

Indianapolis Business Video Shoot: Standard for Success

As with many SaaS companies, real estate is an area that requires a huge investment but doesn’t have a return for years. When I see a startup invest in beautiful, innovative spaces, it’s a concern. Many do it for the tax benefits, but money spent in real estate is money not spent on business development, human resources, and platform enhancements. That’s not to say it’s a bad idea altogether, just something we watch.

Standard for Success is a rapidly growing business, jumping out of the gate with an employee performance system that’s taken the education industry by storm. They have enormous saturation in Indiana and are growing nationally at a rapid pace. The platform is so good that they’ve launched a non-education sector version for every company, SFS Pro.

We developed a marketing strategy for the company and wanted to do some interviews with key leaders in the company, including co-founder Todd Whitlock. We scheduled the shoot at our offices in downtown Indianapolis and they flew in their team – the furthest from Alaska! Using our office and conference room, we had a half-day shoot to produce a series of videos about the company that will be launched in a few weeks after post-production and development of intros and outros.

We have relationships with several videographers in the region. Our videographer partners used on this shoot work for a company that’s national with offices in most major cities and then vetted teams of video professionals in every major city. So, while this was an Indianapolis shoot, let us know if you need one in your city.

Video is becoming an essential component of every business’ site. Video types that we can develop and execute include explainer videos, product tours, testimonials, thought leadership and how-to videos. Best of all, since we’re a cross-channel marketing agency, we can leverage these videos for search, social and other strategies for our clients. Popping a great video up on YouTube just isn’t enough.
